Product Review: Blueberry Knitting
By Kyle McNall
Blueberry Knitting and Uniforms has made high-quality wool blend, and acrylic outwear accessories since 2015. Their wool products are made in Canada and can be found in large chains like Walmart down to independent stores. Recently they sent us various samples of their gear.
Included in these samples were Neck Warmer Gaiters, Full Face Mask Balaclavas, Beanie Caps, and a Dickey. All these garments are incredibly soft and warm. The Balaclavas are constructed of Italian Merino Wool. The neck warmers and beanie caps came in a Merino Wool option and a polyester or acrylic blend option like a soft fleece. The Dickey does not have a tag that states the materials; however, I assume it is similar to the other blends.
These pieces are great for anybody that works or spends time outdoors in cold weather, as well as Security and tactical personnel. When I say these pieces are soft, I mean it, and you must feel them to understand the comfort, quality, and warmth. All items came packaged individually in plastic poly bags.
Synthetic blend caps and warmers are a high-quality option at an affordable price, with most retailing for less than $10. In contrast, the Italian Wool options are understandably a little more. The heavy-duty Merino Wool neck gaiter retails for about $15, and the wool beanie cap for about $20. The Ultimate Merino Wool Balaclava may be their finest piece. The ergonomic design keeps the mask tight to your face protecting the skin from the elements. The Ultimate Balaclava is made in Canada from the finest 50/50 Merino Wool/Acrylic blend yarn for maximum warmth, comfort, and durability. All pieces are available in multiple colors. It retails for just under $50.
