Tell us about the history of your company.
Proudly based in Columbus, Ohio, Ramson’s Imports, Inc. is one of the nation’s leading importers and wholesale distributors of various products. Since its establishment in 1971, owners Manu and Nita Chabria, who have been joined by their son, Mahesh Chabria, have built a successful business of 50+ years.
Alongside the help of their dedicated and knowledgeable staff, in addition to their low prices, their flourishing relationships with their suppliers have allowed them to offer significant discounts for full-case and multi-case purchases.
Operating from the showroom/warehouse, Ramson’s ships their products directly to their respected customers. They are registered with the Better Business Bureau where they have received and maintained an A+ rating for their commendable business ethics. What products do you offer, and what are your top sellers?
Ramson’s has become one of the largest suppliers of bandanas, flags, hats, jewelry, lapel pins, magnets, signs and much more. Over the years, their extensive product line has continued to grow, and they are pleased to be an official licensee of all military branches while also carrying NFL, college and baseball products to their wholesalers and distributors of general merchandise in the United States.
Are there any new or unique products coming up?
We are constantly coming up with new products and launching them throughout the year. When these products come out, we put them on our website for our customers to see.
Why do dealers choose your products over your competitors’?
We believe customers continue to purchase products from us for several reasons. It is our goal to have competitive pricing, plenty of inventory on hand, quality products and fast delivery. Many of our customers are weekly customers, so they do not need to house a large inventory themselves. Because we strive to try and have all of our orders turned around within 24 hours, our customers are able to order at the beginning of the week, receive it before the weekend, sell through over the weekend, and restart the process.
What types of stores carry your products, and who is the end consumer?
Our business model is to supply only business accounts (B2B). We do not sell to the general public. Our thought process is to provide our customers with the best service and then allow them to sell to their customer base. With over 5000 items to choose from, we supply to master distributors all the way to brick and mortar retailers.
What challenges have you seen recently in your industry, and what are you doing to overcome them?
As all businesses have faced over the past few years, COVID-19 has definitely changed the business world. The biggest challenge we have been facing this year has been the supply chain. Overseas has been delayed in producing products, and the freight lines are taking two to three times their normally delivery time, not to mention that the costs of material, labor, and freight have gone up significantly. At Ramson’s, we are doing everything we can to maintain our best possible pricing.
What advice do you have for independent retailers facing the same challenges?
Honestly, we realize how difficult these past few years have been. My advice to independent retailers is to try and stay optimistic. I realize this may be tough, but know that better times are sure to come. As one business owner to another, we must try and work with each other as best we can to make sure that at the end of this, we all come out of this together and still standing.
What is your order process and turnaround time for dealers?
Our goal is to process all of our orders within 24-48 hours after receipt of them (excluding weekends and holidays). With our vast inventory and years of experience, we have been able to do this pretty well.
Do you have any minimum order requirements or requirements when choosing a dealer?
Our minimum order is $150.00, and we require all items to be purchased in various minimums. These minimums vary depending on the item.

Our success over the last 50+ years has been twofold. First, it is because of our wonderful staff, as we like to refer to them as our “Ramson’s Family,” for always being there and supportive. And secondly, our tremendous customer base. Some of our customers have been with us for decades, and in some cases, we have had the privilege of serving more than one generation.
