Icon Lifesaver has been a leader in water filtration products for nearly 20 years. Their first product was the now iconic Lifesaver water filtration bottle. Lifesaver’s filters quickly became a standard in humanitarian efforts around the globe, the British Army, campers and backpackers everywhere. This led to continued innovations in water filtration and storage products.

One of the latest products that has gained a lot of attention is the Lifesaver Jerrycan. The Jerrycan has am 18.5 liter, approximately 5 gallon, capacity. This makes it great for larger groups, overland treks or longer outdoor trips. The Lifesaver Jerrycans have also been widely implemented in disaster relief response and humanitarian aid around the world. This is not just your little pocket water filter.

The Lifesaver Jerrycans come in three colors; blue, OD green and coyote tan. The Jerrycans can filter up to 20,000 liters (5,300 gallons) of water, removing contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, parasites and cysts instantly. An activated carbon disc can be added to reduce chemicals and heavy metals. The activated carbon disc also helps to remove unwanted tastes and odors. The carbon discs are good for up to 500 liters (approx. 130 gallons) and can be replaced easily. You do not have to use the activated carbon disc in order to have clean and safe drinking water. To use it, simply fill the Jerrycan and then use the built in pump to pump the water out of the can and through the filters. There is also a shower head available as an added accessory. Again, simply fill the can, pump to pressurize and then use the shower head to wash yourself, clothes or gear with clean and safe water.

The Lifesaver Jerrycan is perfect for hard-core explorers. With its large storage capacity and high volume of water purification, it is ideal for longer trips and/or larger groups. Or just a person looking to survive off grid for a while. Drink, wash and cook with clean safe water anywhere you are! If your store works with local emergency responders and agencies, you may want to let them know to pick up a few for their departments to use in response to local disaster situations.
